About the Role Serve a critical role driving successful deal closure and growth in Asia Pacific, collaborating closely with sales. Bring subject matter experience presenting MariaDB portfolio, including in-memory compute platform. Design and drive solutions addressing clients' data and database-centric business challenges. You'll Be Involved In: - Creating SOWs with technical team support - Developing and preparing for presentations, web conferences - Creating white papers, workflows, RFP/RFI responses - Working directly with customers, partners, sales leadership - Rolling up sleeves and taking bias for action Your Responsibilities: - Partner with customers, partners, sales to bring deals to fruition - Leverage high sales acumen and enterprise technology expertise - Partner with global sales to prioritize resources - Reach, assess client pain-points, needs, follow through with solutions - Successfully manage stakeholders at all levels (CIO/CTO/CXO, DBAs) - Experience across channel sales (ISVs, vendors, consultancies) - Travel when needed to support sales and grow opportunities - Man conference booths as needed Requirements: - 8-10 years hands-on Senior Sales Engineer experience - Strong Database or Database Architecture skills - MariaDB or MySQL strongly preferred - Good knowledge of Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server - In-memory compute (Redis, Apache Ignite) desirable - Working understanding of other databases and open-source technologies - Complex customer PoC engagement experience - Collaboration with customer success and field teams - Willingness to travel as needed and work off-hours - Excellent communication and highly organized - Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving - Fundamental programming, web stack, Linux, AI development knowledge - 100% remote with regional travel - Bachelor's or Master's degree in related field - English fluency (verbal and written) - Valid passport and flexibility for 40% travel Bonus: - Open-source software pre-sales experience - SaaS or managed services pre-sales - Cloud engineering/public cloud experience - Kubernetes and Java skills - Public speaking and writing history Why MariaDB: - Impact world of technology - Game-changing organization encouraging outside-the-box thinking - High-calibre colleagues worldwide - Learning and growth opportunities - Competitive compensation - 25 days paid leave plus holidays - Flexibility and freedom Location: Remote – Malaysia, valid passport and 40% travel flexibility
